This specialized training program is part of HALCERT’s strategy to enhance the capacity for implementing and applying Halal standards within the technical units network in Vietnam. Through this, HALCERT aims to build a solid professional workforce to effectively support the evaluation, certification, and development of the national Halal system.

Overview of the training course

Over the course of three days, the training focused on three main topics:

  • Basic awareness of international Halal standards, including core principles and the scope of application in the food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and service sectors.

  • Guidelines for building an internal Halal control system, focusing on policies, organization, and Halal practices according to the TCVN 12944 standard, MS 1500:2019 (Malaysia), and international practices.

  • Ensuring hygiene and food safety conditions, which are considered prerequisites for obtaining Halal certification, through the implementation of systems such as HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, or equivalent certifications.

With practical experience in Halal certification and assessment in Vietnam, Mr. Ramlan Bin Osman, Director of HALCERT and the course instructor, helped the participants better understand the implementation process, technical requirements, and key considerations in managing risks when operating an internal Halal system.

During the program, a representative of HALCERT emphasized:

“An effective Halal system doesn’t just begin with documents or processes; it must be backed by strong commitment from business leadership and execution capabilities from the professional team. Understanding and doing things correctly are essential prerequisites for businesses to move toward sustainable Halal certification, gradually expanding opportunities in international markets.”

Ms. Ngô Thị Như Loan, Deputy Director of QUATEST 2, speaking at the class.

The training in Da Nang concluded successfully, leaving a positive impression on all participants. Through this program, HALCERT reaffirmed its role as a leading entity in guiding and supporting businesses and technical organizations to approach Halal standards in a systematic, scientific, and internationally-compliant manner.
